4th Balkans Digital Highway Workshop
The WesternBalkans region has a chance to step up its game in the digital age. But to do that, we need to bridge the digital divide and bring fast, reliable internet to everyone. The good news is, we can do it by working together.
The World Bank has been leading the Balkans Digital Highway Initiative bringing countries in the region together to share their utilities' fiber-optic assets. In collaboration with the wholly owned subsidiary of IPTO-Independent Power Transmission Operator, Grid Telecom Greece, on January 18-19, 2023, the 4th Balkans Digital Highway workshop in Athens was organized. Transmission system operators from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and NorthMacedonia and neighboring EuropeanUnion countries came together to chart a course for this vital infrastructure sharing program. This workshop is part of the World Bank Balkans Digital Highway Initiative and did provide updates on its activities as part of the WBIF - Western Balkans Investment Framework technical assistance.
